History
East Kameng is one of the Districts of Arunachal Pradesh and derives its name from the Kameng river, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. It shares an international border with China in the north and district borders with West Kameng in the west, Pakke-Kessang to the south, Kurung Kumey to the east, and Papumpare to the southeast.
The court complex of East Kameng is located in Seppa, the headquarter, and consists of the Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Civil Judge (Sr. Div). The location lay in the midst of Seppa town near the General ground in its front and surrounded by the SP and DC offices to its left and right respectively. The court has jurisdiction over both the districts Pakke Kessang and East Kameng along with all the police stations within the region. The District court building was inaugurate by Shri Gegong Apang, then the Hon’ble CM on 02nd November 1998.
